Luis Monterrubio graduated from the law school of the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and was admitted to the practice of law in 1989, and completed graduate studies in arbitration and international trade.
He joined Noriega y Escobedo in 1987 and has been a partner since 1995. His practice has focused mainly on the areas of economic competition, tax law, civil, commercial and administrative litigation, as well as on alternative dispute resolution.
Luis Monterrubio has been a guest lecturer at various universities on topics relating to business management and commercial contracts, among them The University of the Americas and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
He has also acted as legal counsel in the implementation of the mediation programs of the American Bar Association, and also as counsel to USAID.
He was professor of commercial contracts, procedural commercial law, and alternative means for dispute settlement from 1994 to 2000 at several universities, among them the Universidad Iberoamericana, the ITAM and the University of the Americas.
